Earthy Aroma 〰 Sweet Potato · Hops · Longan

鸭屎香单丛乌龙 · Ya Shi Xiang Dan Cong Wu Long
Origin: Phoenix Mountain, Chaozhou, China

Despite what comes to mind, our Duck Shit Oolong tastes of sweet potato, hops, and longan, and has an aroma that leans earthy and fruity. So why the extremely…evocative name? Legend says the farmer who developed this dancong cultivar was so enamored of his creation that he tried to throw off potential copycats with a real curveball of a name 🦆💩 All our dancong oolongs come from the Huang family's organic tea farm on the slopes of Chaozhou's Phoenix Mountain range.

Grown without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. EU-certified organic.

25g of tea is good for approx:

  • 12 mug sessions
  • 5 gaiwan sessions
  • 3 qts cold brew

Truly a gem to access tea like this in the US

Usually when I see tasting notes on teas or wines, I have to stretch my imagination a bit to see if I can detect them. This tea, however, genuinely tastes like longan and sweet potatoes. It's a nice oolong from a single farm, with an aroma that's a bit unique. I will definitely buy again, as well as other teas for Three Gems.

Nice tea - funny name but elegant taste

I love this tea - it reminds me of the one that was served at my grandpa’s house. It caught my attention because of the name, at first I thought that maybe this had a same processing of Luwak coffee and was afraid that it literally had duck shit but upon reading the story and looking at the ingredients I realized it wasn’t the case. Really nice tea, enjoyed it very much.

🦆 💩 Oolong

I originally purchased this tea as a joke for my boyfriend. We ended up loving this tea! We were able to steep it multiple times and it held up flavor wise. I definitely would purchase this again.

Levels of flavor

I love this tea. First because of its robust, smoky, yet mild flavor. Second, the name is terrific and giving this to friends when they’ve had a crappy day is just a nice way to show someone you care during this crap year. Third because it’s sourced with integrity. And last, I gotta support my Asian American female entrepreneurs!
