玉露 (やぶきた + さみどり)

Also available in 16g mini tin!

Our gyokuro is made from “first tea” (一番茶), or the first new leaves of the year’s growing season, of a blend of Yabukita (やぶきた) and Samidori (さみどり) cultivars. The tea plants are shaded for 20+ days each spring prior to harvest, so the leaves can develop a rich umami flavor. This complex light-steamed green tea is grown by the newest generation of the Sato family, who have been farming organically for over 50 years in Shizuoka. Brew this gyokuro low and slow to bring out its delicate layers of flavor.

Reaching the waterfall at the end of a long forest hike. Delicious.

50g of tea is good for 36+ mug or kyusu servings (4g/session, steeped 3+ times).

🌱 This tea is grown without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides by the third generation of the Sato family to grow organically on their farm in Shizuoka. Spent leaves are *gold* for your compost pile.
♻️ Our steel tea tins are crafted with care in Kyoto, Japan. Please reuse and recycle!
💧 3% of every tea purchase supports clean water projects, because without clean water there is no tea.
